Appeal Online

SECOND LEVEL APPEAL

After completing the first level, you have 10 calendar days to request a further appeal of your ticket by submitting your case to the Parking Appeals Committee — a group of student, staff, and faculty volunteers. The Parking Appeals Committee meets on a need-be basis, up to once a month.

Complete the following steps:

1. Pay the Parking Ticket

Pay the parking ticket to prevent fines from increasing while the appeal is waiting to be heard by the committee. Unpaid fines result in increased fees, class registration hold (for students), payroll deduction (for employees) and possible referral to a collection agency.

2. Fill out the Second Level Appeal Form

You have 10 calendar days from the date of the first level adjudication to request a second level appeal. After paying the parking ticket, download and fill out the Second Level Appeal form.

3. Submit the Second Level Appeal Form

Complete and submit the Second Level Appeal form legibly and return it to us. There are two ways to do this:

1. Email your completed form to ucsappeals@umail.utah.edu.

2. Drop off your completed form at our office located at 311 S. Fort Douglas Blvd.

UNPAID TICKETS

Student: Students with three or more outstanding tickets will be referred to the Office of the Dean of Students. A hold will be placed on the student’s record preventing the student from registering for university courses, receiving transcripts, and their diploma. A representative from the Office of the Dean of Students will contact individuals with outstanding tickets to discuss further actions.

Faculty & Staff: Tickets that remain unpaid after 30 days will be garnished from the employee’s paycheck.

Collections: Vehicles not associated with a current student, faculty, or staff will be sent to a third-party collection agency and a collection fee may be added. If not paid through collections, the university is a state institution and has authorization to garnish state income tax.
