D Permit - Academic Year 2016-2017

Consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act, selected parking spaces have been designated for drivers with disabilities. Parking stalls for disabled drivers are also located in the pay lots and the University Hospital garage and are reserved for visitors to the University and University Hospital. Visitor parking fees may apply in the pay lots.

Applicants for a "D" (Driver with disability) permit must obtain and display disabled parking authorization from the division of motor vehicles obtained from the state where their vehicle is registered.

Qualified students or employees may then purchase a “D” permit from Commuter Services giving them access to “D” parking spaces. “D” permits are valid for parking in “A”, “U”, and “E” surface lots. If all ADA spaces are filled, “D” permits are also valid at parking meters for the time of the meter (36 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours). They are not valid in parking spaces reserved for health care patients or visitors unless the driver is visiting a health care facility as a patient or visitor.

State-issued disabled permits are valid only for campus visitors. Faculty, staff and students of the University community, are required to purchase an applicable parking permit in order to park on campus.

Permits for temporary disabilities may be obtained through our office. Contact Commuter Services for information.

Annual Cost: $240. Expires 8/31/2017. Visit or call our office for more details.
