Do you have to have a permit to park on campus?

Yes. There is no free parking on campus. If you are visiting the campus for a short amount of time, you can park at a meter, pay lot, or you can purchase a day pass for $10 per day. If you are a temporary employee you may purchase permits by the week or month.

As a full time employee, how many permits can I have on pay roll deduction?

Full time employees are allowed to pay for one parking permit with pre-tax dollars under our current Pre-tax Dollar Program.

Can I purchase a permit for less than the entire year?

Your choice is a semester or an annual permit. The least expensive option would be to purchase an annual permit and return it at any time throughout the year for a pro-rated refund.

I am hosting a special event. What do I need to do?

Guest permits are available from our office for $10.00 per day. If you are hosting a large event or for longer than one day, please call 801-585-3977 and arrange parking with one of our special event coordinators.

I am terminating my position at the University. What do I do with my parking permit?

Email Commuter Services at parkingpermits@utah.edu indicated you are no longer with the University.

I have a ticket. What do I do?

You can pay the original fee if paid within ten calendar days. After ten days, the amount increases and continues to do so every ten days. After sixty days, it goes to collections and may incur additional late fees, collection agency fees, or court costs.
