Main Campus

Pay parking lotVisitors to the University's main campus have three parking options. They may park in pay lots, at meters, or purchase a day pass or temporary permit. V Permits are available to vendors doing business with University departments and offices. Occasional parking for permit holders from other state universities is allowed. Please see restrictions below. Meters and Pay by Phone stalls are patrolled from 8 AM to 8 PM year round. Visitor pay lots are open at 7 AM daily and closing times may vary.

University Hospital exterior viewPatients and visitors to University Hospital may park free in the Visitor/Patient Lot or take advantage of the free valet parking.

Day Passes

If you're visiting the University for only one or two days, a day pass may be your best option. It can be purchased on the day you wish to use it or bought in advance. It allows a visitor to park on campus for one day in "A," "U," or "E" lots. The cost per day depends on where you wish to park. It is not valid at meters or in pay lots.

Day passes are available at Commuter Services or on our website. A day pass must display the date of the day it is being used in order to be valid. Call us at 801-581-6415 for further assistance.

Day passes are valid only in the lot in which they are purchased.

Stadium (Lot 1)- $5 per day*

Guardsman Way (Lot 40) - $1 per day*

Red Butte (Lot 75) - $ 1 per day*

Institute Garage Level 2 and 3 (Lot 15) - $5 per day, $2 per day after Noon.*

Pay by Phone

Pay by Phone parking technology will replace actual meter heads by August 2015. 

4 Easy Steps

1. Download the App, Visit the mobile site, or call the number posted on signage

Phone numbers, website info , and a QR code for PayByPhone service are displayed on parking meters and signs

2. Respond to the prompts

Existing users will be prompted to enter the 5 digit location number, stall number, and parking time required. New users will be guided through a registration process.

3. Wait to confirm that parking has started

Once you have received confirmation that your parking has started you may leave your vehicle. Your vehicle will now appear for Commuter Services officers.

4. Extend parking anytime

Extension is possible at any time. Simply pull up the App, website, or call the number you dialed. Your account or number will be recognized and you can extend parking time from your desk or class.

Temporary permits

A temporary permit is similar to a day pass but may be used for several consecutive days. Although it is designed primarily for visitors, new employees may be eligible for a temporary permit until they have attended new employee orientation.

Valid only for use by a registered lessee or employees of the company or organization listed on the application.

Valid for "A," "U," or "E" lots and at meters for up to three hours at a single location without paying but may not be used at 20 minute loading zone meters.
